About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Foreman to oversee our construction projects. The Foreman will be responsible for managing on-site operations, coordinating activities, and ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and a dedication to delivering high-quality results.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage daily operations on the construction site, ensuring all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Lead, motivate, and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, laborers, and other team members to ensure effective collaboration and productivity.
Review project plans and blueprints to understand project requirements, timelines, and resource needs.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and communicate with project managers or superintendents to provide updates and solutions.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including conducting regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to maintain a safe work environment.
Schedule and coordinate the delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies to meet project timelines and avoid delays.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, work hours, and project expenditures.
Assist with quality control, performing inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and adheres to project specifications.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, open communication, and problem-solving among team members.
Enforce company policies and procedures, including attendance, performance, and safety standards.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in construction management or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Foreman or in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codes.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in using construction management software and tools for project tracking and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in construction safety (e.g., OSHA) and first aid/CPR.
Experience with project management techniques and scheduling software.
Specialized expertise in specific types of construction (e.g., residential, commercial, industrial) may be advantageous.
Work Environment:
The Foreman will primarily work on construction sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and physical demands.
The role may require extended hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends, depending on project schedules.
