About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and safety-focused Loader Operator to join our construction team. The Loader Operator will be responsible for operating various types of loaders and heavy equipment to facilitate material handling and movement on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating loaders, a strong commitment to safety standards, and excellent teamwork skills.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Operate front-end loaders, skid-steer loaders, and other heavy machinery to load, unload, and move materials such as dirt, gravel, and debris on construction sites.
Perform daily pre-operational checks and inspections of loaders to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Load materials into trucks or other machinery, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety regulations.
Transport materials and equipment to designated locations, following project specifications and site plans.
Work closely with site supervisors, foremen, and other operators to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
Monitor the condition of equipment during operation and conduct minor maintenance or repairs when necessary.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment and prevent accidents.
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, material movement, and any issues encountered during operations.
Keep the work area clean and organized, removing debris and hazards from the operational zones.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid certification or license to operate heavy machinery (specific requirements may vary by location).
Proven experience as a Loader Operator or in a similar role in the construction or material handling industry.
Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to heavy equipment operation.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and other construction documents.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical stamina and the ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience operating different types of loaders (e.g., wheel loaders, track loaders) and other heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers).
Familiarity with general construction practices and site operations.
OSHA certification or relevant safety training in heavy machinery operation.
Work Environment:
The Loader Operator will primarily work in an outdoor construction environment, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and dust.
The role may require long hours and physical labor.
