About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Mixer Driver to join our team. The Mixer Driver is responsible for operating a concrete mixer truck to transport and deliver concrete to construction sites while ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience driving heavy vehicles, a strong understanding of concrete delivery processes, and a commitment to adhering to all safety regulations.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Operate a concrete mixer truck to transport ready-mixed concrete to various construction sites in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the mixer truck to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking fluid levels, brakes, tires, and other essential components.
Ensure that loads are mixed correctly and maintained in proper condition during transit according to specified job requirements.
Communicate with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules, job site conditions, and any potential issues.
Safely deliver concrete, using the truck’s chute or other equipment, ensuring correct placement as per the customer’s specifications.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, as well as safety protocols related to mixer truck operation and concrete delivery.
Keep accurate records of deliveries, including load weights, travel times, and site contacts.
Maintain a clean and organized truck interior and exterior, including cleaning the mixer after deliveries to prevent concrete build-up.
Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required and demonstrate a commitment to safe working practices.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (required for driving a mixer truck).
Proven experience as a Mixer Driver or in a similar heavy vehicle driving role, particularly with concrete mixer trucks.
Knowledge of concrete delivery processes, proper mixing ratios, and quality control.
Strong understanding of safety regulations related to transportation and concrete handling.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, supervisors, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with construction practices and concrete specifications.
OSHA certification or other relevant safety training related to concrete delivery and mixer operation.
Basic mechanical skills for performing minor troubleshooting and maintenance on the mixer truck.
Work Environment:
The Mixer Driver will primarily work outdoors at construction sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and noise.
The role may require long hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional overtime.
