About the Role
We are seeking dedicated TBM Crew Members to play a critical role in supporting the operation and maintenance of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) in our tunneling projects. This position involves a variety of tasks essential for the safe and efficient functioning of the TBM and its auxiliary systems. The TBM Crew Member must adhere to a work schedule as set by the TBM Supervisor, work collaboratively with the team, and prioritize safety in all activities.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Follow Work Schedule: Adhere to the work schedule set by the TBM Supervisor, completing various tasks carefully and efficiently as required.
Equipment Maintenance: Conduct maintenance on TBM equipment, ensuring it operates smoothly and effectively.
Sanitation: Perform sanitation procedures on TBM and auxiliary equipment to maintain cleanliness and functionality.
Parts Replacement: Replace worn or defective parts as needed to ensure safe operation of the TBM.
Track Installation: Assist in the installation of tracks as part of the tunneling process.
Utility Extensions: Support the extension of air ducts, water pipes, wires, and cables as part of site operations.
Pipeline Installation: Help with the installation of pipelines and other necessary infrastructure.
Bolt Fastening: Engage in bolt fastening activities to secure equipment and structures.
Auxiliary Equipment Operation: Operate TBM auxiliary equipment under the guidance of the site supervisor.
Segment Lifting: Participate in lifting and placing segments as part of the tunneling process.
Conveyor Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and operation of belt conveyors used in transporting materials.
Mud Loading: Manage the loading of mud and other materials required for safe tunneling operations.
Locomotive Command: Facilitate the command and operation of the marshaling locomotive as directed.
Additional Duties: Complete any other work tasks assigned by the site supervisor as necessary.
Safety Responsibilities:
Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and operational procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and drills to enhance safety awareness and preparedness.
Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
Prior experience in tunneling operations or construction is preferred.
Basic understanding of TBM operations and maintenance procedures.
Strong commitment to safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work in challenging underground environments.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
Work primarily takes place in underground tunneling environments, which may involve exposure to varying conditions such as noise, dust, and confined spaces.
The position may require extended hours and shift work, depending on project demands.
